The Panchayats, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department, Govt. of Gujarat on September 08, 2026, issued the Gujarat Gram and Nagar Panchayats Taxes and Fees (Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Gujarat Gram and Nagar Panchayats Taxes and Fees Rules, 1964.
In Rule 7, in sub- rule (2), after clause (i), the following clause shall be added, namely:
" (j) only one house belonging to serving defence personnel or spouse of serving defence personnel and Ex-serviceman or widows of martyrs, which he/she uses for his/her own residential purpose, within territory of the State of Gujarat”.
The amendments shall come into effect from September 08, 2026.
