The Office of the Commissioner Municipal Corporation Una, Himachal Pradesh, on September 10, 2026, issued the Solid Waste Management (Collection, Transportation and Disposal By laws-2026) of Municipal Corporation Una for Municipal Solid Waste Management and Disposal.
The following has been stated: -
•The Municipal Corporation Una has proposed Solid Waste Management Bye-Laws, 2026, applicable to all municipal areas of Una, for implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026.
•The Bye-Laws establish an integrated waste management system based on the hierarchy of prevention, reduction/reuse, recycling, composting/bio-methanation, waste-to-energy and sanitary landfill disposal.
•Waste generators are required to segregate waste into four streams wet, dry, sanitary and special care waste and hand it over to authorised collectors, with decentralised processing and environmentally sound collection, transportation and disposal mandated.
These Bye-Laws shall come into force on September 10, 2026.
