The Government of Kerala, on September 15, 2026, has informed establishments in the plastic packaging sector that registration must be completed on the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) EPR portal for plastic packaging. Existing institutions that already have accounts are also required to link and onboard themselves with the portal.
The portal is to be used for key Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) activities, including registration, reporting of transactions, fulfilment of prescribed EPR targets and submission of annual returns. The direction is therefore relevant to entities operating in the plastic packaging sector that fall within the applicable EPR framework.
Accordingly, concerned establishments should ensure that their registration/onboarding is completed and that applicable EPR transactions, target fulfilment and annual-return requirements are carried out through the designated portal.
