The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on September 16, 2026, notified the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Tenth Amendment) Order, 2026, further to amend the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003.
The following has been stated: -
•Schedule VI has been amended to add 64 tissue-cultured aquatic plant species from Denmark.
•The listed plants include species of Anubias, Cryptocoryne, Bucephalandra, Rotala, Taxiphyllum and others.
•Imports must carry a phytosanitary certificate declaring that the plants were obtained from mother stock tested and maintained free from viruses and other pests.
•No special conditions of import have been prescribed for these plants.
It shall come into force on September 23, 2026.
