The Government of Goa, on September 18, 2026, notified the Goa Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Act, 2026, further to amend the Goa Land Revenue Code, 1968.
The following has been stated: -
•Goa amended the Goa Land Revenue Code, 1968 to introduce a common cadre for Revenue Department officers and subordinate employees, with the Revenue Secretary as cadre-controlling authority.
•The Government may constitute common cadres for specified revenue and survey posts across Revenue Department offices.
•The time limit under Section 38A is extended from 6 months to 18 months.
•Past appeals, orders and proceedings conducted by the Superintendent of Surveys and Land Records under Section 188 are retrospectively validated.
•The Goa Land Revenue Code (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026 is repealed, while actions taken under it are saved and treated as actions under the amended Act.
It shall come into force at once, except Section 4, which shall be deemed to have come into force on April 10, 2026.
