The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, has determined the retail price under Paragraph 5 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO, 2013) for the formulation “Each Film Coated Tablet contains: Metformin Hydrochloride IP 500 mg (as Extended Release) + Sitagliptin Phosphate Monohydrate IP equivalent to Sitagliptin 100 mg”, manufactured by M/s Synokem Pharmaceuticals Limited and marketed by M/s FDC Limited. The price computation is based on January 2026 market data.
Based on the market-share and price data considered under Paragraph 5 of DPCO, 2013, the worked-out retail price is ₹13.92 per tablet, excluding GST. The calculation considers companies having 1% or more market share, along with the relevant Moving Annual Turnover (MAT), PTR and pack data. The applicable 16% retailer margin is added for determination of the retail price, with local taxes to be charged as applicable.
The price determination has been issued under File No. 19(5321)/2026/DP/NPPA/Div.II, with the related record also bearing I/15279/2026. The order concerns fixation of the retail price of the specified Metformin Hydrochloride and Sitagliptin combination under the DPCO, 2013.
