Commercial ComplianceThe Department of Science & Technology & Chandigarh Administration on September 24, 2026, issued a notification regarding the 4th amendment to the Chandigarh Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy, 2022.

The following has been stated: -

•The Chandigarh Administration has amended the Chandigarh Electric Vehicle Policy, 2022, originally framed to develop Chandigarh as a ‘Model EV City’ by achieving high penetration of zero-emission vehicles by September 19, 2027. 

•The amendments were approved by the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, based on recommendations of the UT Electric Vehicle Advisory Committee following its meeting held on August 21, 2026. 

•The amendments to the EV Policy-2022 are annexed to the notification and come into force with immediate effect. 

•The amended policy is available on the official websites of the Department of Science & Technology & Renewable Energy and Chandigarh Administration.
