The measure supports the National Action Plan for Prevention and Control of Snakebite Envenoming (NAPSE) and aims to strengthen surveillance, identify high-risk areas and populations, improve clinical management, and enhance reporting from private healthcare facilities.
Reports must be submitted in the prescribed format, preferably within 24 hours of identification or admission, either offline to the designated authority or online through the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) for real-time surveillance. Reports are to be submitted to the concerned Chief District Health Officer (CDHO) or Municipal Health Officer, as applicable, while local authorities must submit consolidated monthly reports to the Additional Director (Public Health), Gujarat. The directive covers hospitals, nursing homes, CHCs, PHCs, dispensaries, private clinics and other clinical establishments.
