The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) on September 23, 2026, issued a notification regarding an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of “1-(3,5,5,6,8,8-hexamethyl-6,7- dihydronaphthalen-2-yl) ethenone” originating in or exported from China PR.
The following has been stated: -
•The Designated Authority issued preliminary findings in the anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of 1-(3,5,5,6,8,8-hexamethyl-6,7-dihydronaphthalen-2-yl) ethenone from China PR, based on an application filed by Keva Fragrances Pvt. Ltd., the sole Indian producer of the subject goods.
•The Authority provisionally found a positive and significant dumping margin and concluded that increased dumped imports caused material injury through price undercutting, idle capacity, inventory accumulation, financial losses, and negative returns.
•It further found that no other known factor caused the injury and that India had sufficient domestic capacity to meet demand.
•Accordingly, the Authority provisionally recommended imposition of anti-dumping duty, noting that it would not significantly increase costs for end-consumers or adversely affect public interest.
