The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) on September 29, 2026, has issued a revised Schedule of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) for the National Capital Region (NCR) under Section 12 of the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Act, 2021. The revision follows a review of the existing GRAP measures, implementation experience, prevailing air-quality requirements and the need for timely preventive and restrictive action.
The revised Schedule is effective immediately and will govern GRAP implementation across the NCR. Measures prescribed under each stage will become applicable when the respective stage is formally invoked through appropriate orders. The Government of NCT of Delhi, NCR State Governments, Central Government authorities, pollution control boards, urban local bodies and other concerned agencies are required to implement and enforce the applicable measures within their respective jurisdictions. Industries, project proponents, commercial establishments and other concerned entities and persons must comply with the measures applicable to them upon invocation of the relevant GRAP stage.
