The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on August 17, 2026, issued a circular regarding guidance for Approval of IFR Operations at Heliport/ Helicopter Landing Areas and Associated Point-in-Space (PinS) Instrument Flight Procedures.
The following has been stated: -
•DGCA has issued guidance for obtaining Heliport Licence/Operational Authorisation for IFR operations and approval of associated Point-in-Space (PinS) Instrument Flight Procedures.
•The two approvals are separate and must be obtained independently.
•The guidance applies to heliport/HLA applicants and operators, helicopter operators, and stakeholders involved in designing, validating, and approving PinS procedures, with the heliport/HLA operator responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, providing required technical and survey information, and coordinating implementation.
