Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E) on September 21, 2026, issued a notification regarding Aadhaar Authentication for Government Benefits.

The following has been stated: -

•Under Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act, 2016, beneficiaries seeking the notified benefit must undergo Aadhaar authentication or provide proof of Aadhaar possession.

•Those without an Aadhaar number must apply for enrolment, with parent/legal guardian consent for children.

•The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment must facilitate Aadhaar enrolment/update and provide alternative identification mechanisms until Aadhaar is assigned.

•For children below 18 years, specified documents such as enrolment acknowledgement, birth certificate/passport and proof of relationship with parent/legal guardian may be used for identification.
