Industry Specific ComplianceThe Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on September 21, 2026, notified the Telecom Consumers Protection (Thirteenth Amendment) Regulations, 2026, further to amend the Telecom Consumers Protection Regulations, 2012.

The following has been stated: -

•TRAI has amended Regulation 4(2)(c)(iii) of the Telecom Consumers Protection Regulations, 2012 to require service providers to offer Special Tariff Vouchers (STVs) exclusively for Voice and SMS at appropriately reduced tariffs. 

•Such STVs must include 30-day or shorter validity options, monthly renewal on the same date, and at least one longer-validity option corresponding to existing Voice/SMS/Data STVs.

They shall come into force thirty days from September 30, 2026.
