NCDEX issued updates on UNSC Sanctions List under Section 51A of UAPA, 1967

Secretarial ComplianceThe National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on October 01, 2026, pursuant to SEBI’s communication dated October 1, 2026, informed members about an amendment to one entry in the UNSC 1267/1989 ISIL (Da’esh) & Al-Qaida Sanctions List. Members are required to follow the procedure prescribed under Section 51A of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and the Central Government Order dated February 2, 2021, including regularly checking the updated UNSC consolidated sanctions lists.

Members must scan all existing accounts and ensure that no account is held by or linked to any sanctioned individual or entity, and conduct the same checks for future accounts in accordance with SEBI’s AML/CFT guidelines. Any delisting request received must be forwarded electronically to the Joint Secretary (CTCR), Ministry of Home Affairs, with a copy to the Ministry of External Affairs. Members should also inform applicants that delisting requests may be submitted to the UN-appointed Ombudsperson. Members are advised to regularly monitor SEBI’s “UNSC Sanctions Committee List” for further amendments and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
