Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) on October 01, 2026, issued circular on Reporting for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications and systems offered and used by market intermediaries.

The NSE requires all active Trading Members that have executed at least one trade using algorithm software during the period April 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026 to mandatorily submit details of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications and systems used or offered, irrespective of whether AI/ML systems are actually used. Members not using AI/ML systems must also submit a NIL report and are required to explicitly mention the application/system name wherever applicable.

The AI/ML reporting is to be submitted through ENIT-New-Compliance > COMPLIANCE > ML and AI > ML and AI Details. The submission window is open from October 1, 2026 to October 15, 2026. Failure to submit the required details or NIL declaration within the prescribed timeline will be treated as non-compliance and may attract action under the applicable Exchange guidelines.
