The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on September 30, 2026, issued a Draft Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) for Operation of Commercial Air Transport – Aeroplanes.
The following has been stated: -
•The DGCA has invited stakeholder comments by October 29, 2026 on the Draft Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) for Operation of Commercial Air Transport – Aeroplanes, effective from October 21, 2026.
•The CAR prescribes minimum operational, equipment, and instrument requirements for Indian-registered aeroplanes engaged in domestic and international air transport operations.
•It applies to scheduled, scheduled commuter and non-scheduled air transport operators and incorporates requirements aligned with ICAO Annex 6 Part I.
•The draft also updates key operational and safety definitions, including aerodrome operating minima, accelerate-stop distance, advanced aircraft, and acts of unlawful interference.
