Labour ComplianceThe Ministry of Labour & Employment (MoL&E) on September 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding the revision of Variable Dearness Allowance and Minimum Wages for Scheduled Employments.

The following has been stated: -

•The Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment, has revised Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) and total minimum wages effective October 01, 2026 for various scheduled employments.

•The revision covers Agriculture, Mining, Construction, Sweeping/Cleaning, Watch & Ward, and Loading/Unloading of Goods across Area A, B, and C.

•The VDA revision is based on a 6.62-point increase in CPI-IW, with the index reaching 431.42 as on June 30, 2026.

•The orders specify revised basic wages, VDA, and total daily wages for unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled workers.
