Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) on September 24, 2026, issued a notification regarding the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of Montelukast Sodium from China PR.

The following has been stated: -

•The DGTR has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into imports of Montelukast Sodium originating in or exported from China PR, following an application by Morepen Laboratories Limited.

•The product is an API used in medicines for asthma, rhinitis, allergic disorders and exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, and is imported under specified tariff items.

•The applicant has alleged that dumped imports from China are causing material injury to the Indian domestic industry and has sought imposition of anti-dumping duty.

•DGTR has found Morepen Laboratories to constitute the domestic industry and satisfy the standing requirements, while inviting comments on the PUC scope and PCN methodology.
