The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) on October 05, 2026, notified the authentication and forwarding of the Export Declaration Forms (EDFs) at Non-EDI Customs locations.
The Customs authorities have been directed to ensure authentication and forwarding of Export Declaration Forms (EDFs) to the respective Authorised Dealers (ADs) under the Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026, effective October 1, 2026. At EDI ports, the EDF is deemed submitted through the Shipping Bill, while at Non-EDI ports, physical EDFs must be authenticated and forwarded to the concerned AD. Customs formations should, preferably through a single official government email, electronically transmit authenticated EDFs, maintain records, and establish the mechanism at all Non-EDI locations from October 1, 2026. RBI will provide details of a nodal point of ADs for receiving such EDFs.
