Industry Specific ComplianceThe Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) on September 22, 2026, issued the Draft of Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Grid Interactive Distributed Renewable Energy Sources) (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2026, to amend the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Grid Interactive Distributed Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations, 2019.

The following has been stated: -

•The CSERC has proposed amendments to its Principal Regulations, revising the definition of Banking Cycle to a monthly basis and introducing definitions for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Behind the Meter Projects. 

•Drawing entities with contract demand up to 1 MVA will be exempt from telemetry and RTU requirements until covered under the Commission’s Deviation Settlement Regulations.

•Further, inverters must filter harmonics and distortions, with Total Voltage Harmonic Distortion (VTHD) maintained within IEGC/IEEE standards until the Commission notifies separate Power Quality Regulations.

The CSERC has invited views, comments, and suggestions from stakeholders/public on the Draft Regulations available on its website by October 13, 2026. A public hearing on the Draft Regulations will be held on October 14, 2026, at 11:30 AM at the Commission’s office.
