Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) on September 25, 2026, issued a notification regarding the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of 6-Amino Penicillanic Acid (6-APA) from the People’s Republic of China and the European Union.

The following has been stated: -

•The DGTR has initiated an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of 6-Amino Penicillanic Acid (6-APA) originating in or exported from China and the European Union, following an application by Qule Pharma Private Limited. 

•6-APA, a key pharmaceutical intermediate used in the manufacture of beta-lactam antibiotics, is classified under CTH 2941 10 50. 

•The investigation covers the period April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, with injury assessment for FY 2022-23 to FY 2024-25 and the investigation period. 

•The Authority has considered Qule Pharma as the domestic industry and noted that it constitutes 100% of Indian production. 

•Interested parties may submit comments on the product scope and proposed PCN methodology within 15 days of receipt of the intimation.
