The BSE Clearing Limited (BSECL), on October 1, 2026, notified trading members about a new facility for dissemination of information relating to inactive Custodial Participant (CP) Codes. Custodians will be able to provide details of CP Codes for which they will not undertake clearing and settlement activities.
BSECL will make the list of inactive CP Codes submitted by all custodians, including BSECL and NCL custodians, available to trading members through an Inactive CP file. The file will be placed by 8:00 PM on the T-1 day in the prescribed path: Home > Common > Month > Current Date. The file nomenclature, format and sample files are provided in Annexure A, along with a user manual for custodians to upload inactive CP Code information.
The facility and the corresponding member file will be available to members from October 5, 2026. Trading members can therefore use the file to identify CP Codes for which clearing and settlement activities will not be undertaken by the relevant custodians.
