Commercial ComplianceThe Department of Legal Metrology, NCT of Delhi, on October 05, 2026, notified the Delhi Legal Metrology (Government Approved Test Centre) Amendment Rules, 2026, to amend the Delhi Legal Metrology (Government Approved Test Centre) Rules, 2026.

The following has been stated: -

•The amendments to the Delhi Legal Metrology (Government Approved Test Centre) Rules, 2026 introduce Self-Certification and a Risk Category framework for weights and measures.

•The approval fee is reduced from ₹2.50 lakh per weight/measure per year to ₹2 lakh per equipment category, while approval becomes perpetual, subject to an annual ₹10,000 fee per category.

•Rule 6 is omitted, and corresponding changes are made to the Second and Fourth Schedules, including removal of the certificate validity date.

•The Sixth Schedule is substituted with a revised schedule for Government Approved Test Centres.

They shall come into force on October 06, 2026.
