The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on October 06, 2026, issued a notification regarding Climate Action ahead of COP31.
The following has been stated: -
•At the UNFCCC Pre-COP31 meetings, India called for equal focus on adaptation, mitigation and means of implementation, stressing the principles of equity and Common but Differentiated Responsibilities and Respective Capabilities (CBDR-RC).
•India also offered its expertise in coastal resilience, ocean science and space-based technologies to Pacific Island countries for climate-risk assessment, shoreline monitoring and early-warning systems.
