The Government of Arunachal Pradesh on September 08, 2026, issued the Arunachal Pradesh Airport Area Development Authority Bill, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The Arunachal Pradesh Airport Area Development Authority Bill, 2026 seeks to establish a specialized statutory authority responsible for the overall planning, execution, and supervision of modern infrastructure around the state's airports.
•A primary objective is the planned development of a new township in the Hollongi Donyi Polo Airport area, alongside upgrading urban services and amenities in surrounding regions.
•To manage these efforts, the Bill constitutes a governing body headed by the Chief Secretary and sets up an Executive Committee to handle administrative and financial functions.
•It equips the Authority with regulatory powers to formulate master plans, issue development permissions, create dedicated development funds, and manage land use or land-pooling schemes.
•Furthermore, the legislation ensures orderly socio-economic growth for local communities and adjoining villages by coordinating civic infrastructure across various government departments.
