Industry Specific ComplianceThe Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on October 07, 2026, issued the Reserve Bank of India (All India Financial Institutions (AIFIs) – Prudential Norms on Capital Adequacy) Fifth Amendment Directions, 2026, to amend the Reserve Bank of India (All India Financial Institutions (AIFIs) - Prudential Norms on Capital Adequacy) Directions, 2025.

The following has been stated: -

•The RBI has issued the Fifth Amendment Directions, 2026 to align the capital adequacy norms for All India Financial Institutions (AIFIs) with international standards. 

•The amendment prescribes a 2% risk weight on an AIFI’s trade exposure to a Qualified Central Counterparty (QCCP) for OTC derivatives, exchange-traded derivatives, and securities financing transactions. 

•The 2% risk weight also applies where an AIFI providing clearing services to clients is required to reimburse clients for losses arising from a QCCP default. 

•The amendment comes into effect from October 07, 2026.
