The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on October 07, 2026, issued the Draft Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicle Scrapping Facility) Amendment Rules, 2026 to further amend the Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicle Scrapping Facility) Rules, 2021.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule 10, in sub-rule (1), for clause (xiii), the words "Government-owned vehicle or" shall be omitted.
These rules shall come into force on October 07, 2026.
Stakeholders and affected persons may submit their objections and suggestions to the Ministry within 30 days from the date the notification is made available to the public through the Official Gazette.
