class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation Department, Gujarat on August 29, 2026, notified the Mandatory Aadhaar Authentication for Seed Production Assistance Scheme.
The following has been stated:
• The Government has mandated Aadhaar authentication or proof of Aadhaar possession for farmers seeking Seed Production Assistance under the Seed Production Programme administered by Gujarat State Seeds Corporation Ltd. (GSSCL). Beneficiaries who have not been assigned Aadhaar shall apply for enrolment, with parental or legal guardian consent required for children. Until Aadhaar is issued, prescribed alternative documents and enrolment acknowledgements may be used to establish identity, with separate requirements for beneficiaries below and above 18 years of age.
• The notification also requires GSSCL to facilitate Aadhaar enrolment and updates, provide publicity about the requirement, and adopt alternative authentication methods where biometric or OTP authentication fails. Benefits shall not be denied to children solely due to Aadhaar-related authentication or enrolment issues, subject to identity and parental or guardian relationship verification and periodic record audits.
• For adult beneficiaries, the Department shall follow the prescribed exception-handling mechanism to prevent exclusion
