The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has initiated a Sunset Review (SSR) investigation concerning imports of Ceramic Tableware and Kitchenware, excluding knives and toilet items, originating in or exported from China PR. The review has been initiated on the application of the Ceramic Tableware & Kitchenware Manufacturers Association, supported by domestic producers, seeking continuation of the existing anti-dumping duty. The existing anti-dumping duty was originally imposed following the 2016 investigation and was subsequently extended to imports from Malaysia following an anti-circumvention investigation. The current duty is in force until 23 May 2027. DGTR has found prima facie evidence that dumping has continued, imports have increased and prices have remained undercut, with a likelihood of continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury if the duty is withdrawn. The product covers ceramic tableware and kitchenware, including bone china, stoneware and porcelain, but excludes knives and toilet items. Pasted markdown
The POI is 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, with the injury period covering 2022-23 through the POI. Interested parties must register on the SETU Portal and file submissions under Case ID AD/SSR/012/2026. Confidential and non-confidential submissions must be uploaded within 37 days from circulation/transmission of the non-confidential application, while comments on the PUC/PCN methodology are due within 15 days and run concurrently with the main deadline. Any continuation of the anti-dumping duty will also extend to imports of the subject goods originating in or exported from Malaysia, as the existing duty covers Malaysia as well.
