The Department of Power, Government of NCT of Delhi, on October 01, 2026, issued a notification regarding Aadhaar authentication for availing electricity subsidies.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi has mandated Aadhaar-based identification for individuals seeking electricity subsidies under the scheme administered through BRPL, BYPL, TPDDL, NDMC and MES.
•Beneficiaries must furnish proof of possession of their Aadhaar number through the designated web portal or any other mode specified by the Delhi Government.
•Individuals who have not been assigned an Aadhaar number may apply for enrolment and submit their 14-digit Enrolment ID for availing the subsidy.
•The Department of Power and its implementing agencies must publicise the Aadhaar requirement to ensure beneficiary awareness.
•The notification takes effect from October 09, 2026.
