Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoS&PI) on October 09, 2026, issued draft guidelines regarding compilation of GSDP estimates using the expenditure approach.

The following has been stated: -

•The National Statistics Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, issued draft guidelines for compiling Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimates using the expenditure approach, with 2022–23 as the base year. 

•The guidelines establish a uniform methodology for estimating key expenditure components, including Private Final Consumption Expenditure (PFCE), Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GFCE), Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF), changes in inventories, valuables and net exports. 

•They emphasise the use of state-specific data sources and appropriate allocation indicators to improve consistency and comparability across States and Union Territories.

•The draft guidelines are available for stakeholder comments and suggestions until October 28, 2026, on the Ministry’s official website.
