The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), on October 13, 2026, has extended the due date for filing Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) and remittance of statutory contributions for the wage month of September 2026.
The following has been stated:
The due date for filing ECR and remittance of statutory contributions for September 2026 has been extended from October 15, 2026 to October 31, 2026. The extension has been provided following the revision of the wage ceiling effective September 17, 2026, which required changes in payroll systems and contribution calculations.
The extension is limited only to the September 2026 wage month and does not extend statutory timelines for any other wage month or waive any other obligations under the applicable Act and Schemes.
