The Reserve Bank of India, on October 14, 2026, has announced the premature redemption price of Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2019-20 Series V, due on October 15, 2026.
The following has been stated:
SGB 2019-20 Series V, issued on October 15, 2019, becomes eligible for premature redemption after completion of five years from the date of issue, on the date on which interest is payable.
The premature redemption price has been fixed at ₹14,725 per SGB unit, based on the simple average of the closing price of 999-purity gold for the three preceding business days—October 12, 13 and 14, 2026—as published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd. (IBJA).
