The Arunachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (APSPCB) on October 05, 2026, notified the Mandatory Authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
In compliance with the directions issued by the Member Secretary of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under Section 18(1)(b) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, all occupiers of facilities in Arunachal Pradesh engaged in activities involving hazardous and other wastes are directed to obtain authorisation from the State Pollution Control Board.
In accordance with Rule 6(1) of the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016, covered facilities shall submit an application in Form I within 30 days from the publication of the notice. The requirement applies to healthcare facilities, automobile workshops, battery and used-oil dealers, metal scrap and waste-tyre dealers, e-waste dismantlers, printing presses, tea industries, veneer mills, stone crushers, catechu, steel and coke industries, hot-mix plants, and other units generating hazardous waste covered under Schedules I, II and III of the Rules.
