The following has been stated: -

•The Ministry of Coal has compiled the National Lignite Index for August 2026, using the base year 2021–22 and the approved methodology based on certified data from eight lignite sector companies. 

•The corresponding index and royalty price (RP) for the period are provided in the annexure.
