The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on October 17, 2026, notified regarding the Trade Margins at 30% for 137 Non-Scheduled Anti-Cancer Drugs.
The following has been stated:
• It has imposed a maximum trade margin of 30% on non-scheduled formulations containing 137 specified anti-cancer drugs, including patented drugs, to improve affordability and curb excessive pricing. Manufacturers shall calculate the maximum retail price (MRP) using the Price to Stockist/Price to Distributor (PTS/PTD) for March 2026, or the average for April 2025 to March 2026 where no sales occurred in March 2026, subject to specified exceptions.
• Manufacturers shall submit revised price details to NPPA and the concerned State Drug Controller within seven days of publication, issue updated Form V price lists, report PTS/PTD and MRP through IPDMS, and ensure price reductions are communicated to stakeholders. Hospitals and medical institutions must monitor and prominently display revised prices, while State Drug Controllers will oversee compliance.
• The revised prices will take effect from November 9, 2026.
