The National Medical Commission (NMC) on October 16, 2026, issued a notification regarding the de-notification of the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023.
The following has been stated: -
•The National Medical Commission (NMC), exercising its powers under Sections 10, 24, 25 and 57 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, has de-notified the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023 (MSMER-2023), with immediate effect from October 16, 2026.
•The requirement to submit the Annual Disclosure Report (ADR) shall continue under the Act and applicable regulations.
•Actions, approvals, rights, liabilities and pending proceedings arising under the repealed regulations are protected by the transitional and saving provisions.
•Matters arising after de-notification shall be governed by the NMC Act, 2019, and the statutory and regulatory provisions in force at the relevant time.
