The Ministry of Defense (MoD) on October 12, 2026, issued the Draft Sagar Cantonment Building Bye-Laws, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The draft rules aim to regulate building construction, reconstruction, alterations and development within Sagar Cantonment by prescribing requirements for building-plan approval, site planning, structural stability, fire safety, ventilation, sanitation, drainage, parking and accessibility.
• They specify standards for residential and commercial buildings, building heights, setbacks, covered areas, basements, exits and other construction-related requirements to ensure safety, proper planning and compliance with applicable building standards.
• The bye-laws will apply within the Sagar Cantonment area and are proposed to come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. Stakeholders may submit objections or suggestions to the Cantonment Board, Sagar, or by email to [email protected], by November 15, 2026 (Sunday).
