The Government of Assam on October 14, 2026, issued a notification regarding regulation of Public Gatherings and Events Regarding Prior Permission in Golaghat District.
The following has been stated: -
•The District Administration, Golaghat, Assam, has directed that all public gatherings, religious programmes, trade fairs, cultural events and similar activities must obtain prior permission from the District Administration or competent authority.
•Organisers must inform the local police station in advance, and roads or public places cannot be blocked without prior approval.
•Gaon Pradhans, Municipal Board Executive Officers and Executive Magistrates-cum-Circle Officers must monitor activities and report unauthorised gatherings to the concerned authorities.
•Organisers violating these directions or permission conditions may face legal action. The order is effective immediately.
