The Directorate of Education (DoE), Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu has announced the NMMS 2026–27 selection examination for meritorious Class VIII students, offering a scholarship of ₹12,000 per annum, subject to the prescribed eligibility conditions.
The following has been stated:
The scholarship is available to eligible Class VIII students studying in Government, Government-aided or local-body schools. The annual parental income from all sources should not exceed ₹3.50 lakh, and students generally require at least 55% marks in Class VII, with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST students.
A total of 22 scholarships for Dadra & Nagar Haveli and 16 for Daman & Diu will be available, with applicable category reservations. The scholarship of ₹12,000 per annum is renewable for Classes IX to XII, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed conditions.
The selection examination is tentatively scheduled for December 5, 2026, with applications and examination fees to be submitted by October 24, 2026. The examination will comprise MAT and SAT, each carrying 90 questions and 90 marks with 90 minutes duration, and will be conducted in English and Gujarati.
Candidates must secure at least 40% aggregate in MAT and SAT, relaxed to 32% for SC/ST students. There will be no negative marking. The examination fee is ₹70 for General/EWS/OBC students and ₹50 for PH/SC/ST students, and is non-refundable.
Schools are required to submit student details in the prescribed Excel format, ensuring that the student's name and date of birth match the Aadhaar card. Required documents include the photograph, Aadhaar copy, Class VII marksheet, income certificate and applicable caste/disability certificates.
