•This official gazette notification issues key amendments to the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Avam Sanchalan) Rules, 2008.
•It establishes that private universities must pay an annual fee of ₹5 lakh to the Regulatory Commission by May 01 each financial year, with late payments incurring a monthly penalty up to ₹5,000.
•Additionally, the notification mandates the refund of endowment funds previously established by sponsoring bodies, strictly requiring these returned funds to be utilized for the academic development of the university.
•Rules 5 and 6 have been omitted, while updated application and reporting templates (Annexures B, C, and D) have been introduced for initial annual fee applications, fee deposit certificates, and monthly fee collection details.
•Overall, these regulatory changes streamline financial administration, fee reporting mechanisms, and fund utilization for private universities across the state.
