Labour ComplianceThe Government of Meghalaya, on October 5, 2026, amended the Meghalaya Regular Casual Workers Scheme, 1996, under Paragraph 7 of the Scheme. The amendment follows the State Cabinet's decision at its meeting on September 15, 2026.

The notification amends Paragraph 6(1) by substituting “58 years” with “60 years” as the age at which a Regular Casual Worker (RCW) ceases to be employed. Accordingly, the revised provision states that an RCW shall cease to be employed upon attaining 60 years of age.
