Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Haryana on August 21, 2026, has prohibited the manufacture, processing, storage, distribution, transportation and sale of analogue/non-dairy paneer across the State for one year from the date of publication of the Order in the Official Gazette, under Section 30(2)(a) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The prohibition covers products in which milk fat or milk solids are wholly or partly replaced with vegetable oil, vegetable fat or other non-milk ingredients. Food Business Operators must comply with prescribed paneer standards and applicable labelling requirements; non-dairy products cannot be represented or sold as “Paneer.” Violations may attract penalties under the applicable provisions of the Act, including Sections 24, 50, 51, 52, 53, 55 and 59, and the offending products may be seized and destroyed in accordance with law. The Order takes effect from its publication in the Official Gazette and remains in force for one year unless earlier modified, rescinded or extended.
