The Government of Lakshadweep on October 27, 2026, notified the Lakshadweep Tourism Trade (Registration, Safety and Facilitation) Regulation, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The Lakshadweep Tourism Trade (Registration, Safety and Facilitation) Regulation, 2026, promulgated by the President under Article 240 of the Constitution of India, provides a framework for the registration, regulation and facilitation of tourism-related activities in Lakshadweep.
•It aims to enhance tourist safety, promote transparency in tourism charges and ensure the sustainable use of the Union Territory’s fragile island and marine ecosystems.
•The Regulation applies to tourism trade activities in Lakshadweep and seeks to establish appropriate standards for tourism services.
•It shall come into force on the date appointed by the Administrator through a notification published in the Official Gazette.
