The Government of Meghalaya on October 16, 2026, issued a notification regarding mandatory Biometric Aadhaar Authentication for LPG Consumers.
The following has been stated: -
•The concerned authorities have made Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (BAA) mandatory for all domestic LPG consumers in West Jaintia Hills District, effective October 01, 2026, to receive subsidized refills.
•Consumers can complete authentication during cylinder delivery, at the distributor showroom, or through the IndianOil ONE, HelloBPCL or HP PAY applications.
•Consumers unable or unwilling to complete authentication may opt for non-subsidized 5 kg or 10 kg cylinders at market prices.
•LPG connections without authentication may be blocked from future refills until authentication is completed or the consumer declares willingness to receive non-subsidized refills.
