The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), through an announcement dated October 29, 2026, has extended the New Amnesty Scheme 2025 by three months, from October 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026, on the existing terms and conditions. The following has been stated:
The scheme is a one-time dispute resolution initiative aimed at reducing pending litigation and promoting voluntary compliance under the erstwhile ESI Act. It provides employers and insured persons an opportunity to resolve eligible disputes with ESIC through out-of-court settlement.
Ad-hoc assessments can be settled by payment of actual contribution and interest, without levy of damages. Cases where dues have already been paid may be withdrawn on payment of 10% of the disputed damages.
Cases filed by ESIC for non-submission of records or delayed payments, where the required compliance has subsequently been completed, may also be withdrawn with court permission.
Court cases filed up to March 31, 2025 are eligible under the scheme. Eligible employers and insured persons can therefore avail the extended window up to December 31, 2026.
