The Government of Keralam on October 26, 2026, issued a notification regarding refund application for Excess Building Permit Fees.
The following has been stated: -
•Applicants who paid higher rates for application fees, permit fees, or layout scrutiny fees under the Kerala Panchayat/Municipality Building Rules between April 10, 2023, and August 01, 2024, can now apply for a refund.
•The fee rates were originally increased on April 10, 2023, but were subsequently reduced following a government order issued on August 01, 2024.
•Applications are being accepted specifically to refund the excess amount collected above the revised rates.
•Eligible individuals must submit their refund requests by the deadline of December 31.
