The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on October 28, 2026, issued a notification regarding Specified Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government has amended the notification dated October 19, 2001, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, by adding N-Pyrrolidino Isotonitazene (Isotonitazepyne), N-Desethyl Etonitazene and MDMBFUBINACA to the list of specified substances.
•The amendment prescribes small and commercial quantity thresholds for these substances as 0.0017 gm and 0.085 gm, 0.0005 gm and 0.025 gm, and 0.0025 gm and 0.125 gm, respectively.
•The amendment has been issued under Section 2(viia) and Section 2(xxiiia) of the Act.
This notification shall come into force on October 28, 2026.
