The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on October 28, 2026, issued a notification regarding addition of MDMB-FUBINACA as a Psychotropic Substance.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government has amended the Schedule to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, under Section 3 of the Act, by inserting MDMB-FUBINACA, chemically identified as Methyl 2-[amino]-3,3-dimethylbutanoate, at serial number 110ZZL.
•The amendment has been introduced considering the substance’s nature, effects, potential for abuse and changes incorporated in the United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances, 1971.
•The notification adds MDMB-FUBINACA to the list of psychotropic substances specified under the Act.
