The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on October 29, 2026, issued a notification regarding submission of Annual Energy Consumption reports for 27 Notified Sectors.
The following has been stated: -
•The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has issued a notice requiring energy users in 27 notified energy-intensive sectors to submit their Annual Energy Consumption Reports under Section 14 of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001.
•The requirement applies to units and establishments consuming energy above the prescribed sector-specific thresholds.
•The report must be submitted in Form I, duly authenticated by the Energy Manager or Chief Executive Officer, along with the prescribed supporting documents.
•The deadline for submission of the annual energy consumption report is December 31, 2026.
•Failure to submit the report within the prescribed timeline may attract penalties under Section 26 of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001.
